Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has been named the Player of the Month for November 2020 in the Premier League after it was announced on Friday afternoon. The Portuguese international was rewarded for his form in the league last month. November didn’t start on a good note for Bruno Fernandes and Manchester United after they lost at home to rivals Arsenal.
The Gunners had not beaten the Red Devils at their home in 14 years and they managed to pull off the win courtesy a second half penalty from skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. It was the only goal of the game.
The Arsenal defeat was followed by the 3-1 victory at Everton with Bruno Fernandes getting a brace and an assist to lead his team to an important win. Bruno Fernandes also scored the winning goal in the next league game, a slender 1-0 win over Premier League newbies West Brom before his goal and assist propelled Manchester United to a 3-2 away win over in-form Southampton in the final game of November. In total, Bruno Fernandes contributed four goals and three assists in four league games last month to clinch the monthly award deservedly.
Bruno Fernandes has been a key performer for Manchester United since signing from Sporting Lisbon in January and he has the most monthly award wins since his transfer to Old Trafford. He has now won three Player of the Month awards after the ones in February 2020 and June 2020. The Portuguese international has been the main reason behind the recent league form shown by Manchester United. Ahead of the Manchester Derby home fixture with Manchester United at Old Trafford, the Red Devils have won the last four games in the league including comebacks in three of the last four matches.
Bruno Fernandes won his latest monthly award ahead of five players namely Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg of Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United defender Angelo Ogbonna, Jack Grealish of Aston Villa and Southampton setpiece merchant James Ward-Prowse.
